Michael
Griffin is an artist from Nashville, TN dedicated to painting landscapes in the plein
air (outdoor) tradition. Having lived nearly two years in
Jackson Hole, Wyoming painting the western landscape and studying regional
painters, Michael has returned to his home in the South where he creates
studio paintings from his travels. The American West, coastal South
Carolina, and Tennessee prove his greatest inspirations where he spends a
considerable amount of time painting from life. A rich love for art history and artistic tradition combined with a zest
for the outdoors and exploration inform Michael’s artwork. At
the age of 26, he received the honor of being accepted into the Arts
for the Parks Top 100, a national competition with over 2500 entries that
recognizes those artists who have best represented America ’s National Parks. The Top 100 including Michael’s painting “Atop
Death Canyon” from Grand Teton National Park was on a nationwide tour of select museums and galleries from
September ‘05 through September ‘06. Look on to learn more about the
